Major memory manufacturers are actively shifting towards advanced DRAM processes, causing a significant shortage of DDR4 supply. The latest data from research institutions shows that DRAM DDR4 prices have skyrocketed recently, reaching twice the price of DDR5 today, sparking industry discussions for the first time in history. DDR4 spot supply is in short supply, and prices have doubled in just two weeks, demonstrating the sudden rapid and urgent market demand.

Industry observation shows that the spot price of DDR4 was still inverted at the beginning of June, and spot prices have skyrocketed in the past two weeks. Although spot prices are currently skyrocketing, it is expected that after the spot price rises, contract prices will also rise synchronously. In addition, original manufacturers have already booked to withdraw from the mid to low end market, and the supply shortage is expected to continue.

According to the latest data from DRAMeXchange, a professional website under TrendForce, the highest price for DRAM DDR4 16Gb (2Gx8) 3200 products is $13, while the lowest is $6.45. Compared to DDR5 16G (2Gx8) 4800/5600, the highest price is $9 and the lowest is $4.55. The average price for DDR5 16G (2Gx8) 4800/5600 is $6.014, while for DDR4 16Gb (1Gx16) 3200 it is $12. The average price shows that the previous generation specifications are about twice as expensive as the latest.

The agency's quotation data also shows that among all project products, DDR4 16Gb (1Gx16) 3200 has the highest quotation of $24 and the lowest of $11, with a 4.35% increase, making it the most sharply rising product among all products.

On June 18th, data showed that DDR4 16Gb (1Gx16) 3200 and DDR4 8Gb (512Mx16) 3200 surged 12.8% and 16.13% respectively in just two trading days of the week. Currently, DDR4 16Gb (1Gx16) 3200 continues to have a strong upward trend of over 4%. DDR4 8Gb (512Mx16) 3200 saw an increase of approximately 1.92%.
